Fourth Night [Action/Voice, Backdated to April 12th]

[Action]

[Naoya and Dilandau are safely behind bars in the tunnels, secured and locked away with no weapons.   And right now he made sure to take every key to the prisons and secure the entrance with a padlock of his own.  It should be strong enough to hold anyone attempting to break them out for now.

First thing's first.  He needs to track down the woman named Yuzu that Naoya spoke to.  She did not sympathize with him, but knows of him and his weapon system.  Possessing Dilandau's COMP, he will actively seek her out for questioning and follow up on any leads he can.]

[Voice]

[After speaking with Yuzu and following up where the leads take him, Batman will reluctantly open a voice communication.  Someone has to make the announcement.   He's not much of a talker and he's never been good with people.  But it needs to be done.]

Attention, citizens of Luceti.  Dilandau and Naoya have been detained in the murder of Kohaku, a fellow citizen of Luceti.   They will remain in custody until such a time that the people of this village agree on a just punishment or until they are properly tried by a court of law.   That is all.

[she nods.] Then I guess you know I'm from Naoya's world, too.

He didn't. He just didn't want to be implicated in it by the letter of law.

[identity profile] cowledcrusader.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
[He nods.]

I also know you are in possession of a similar device. What do you know about them?

[Voice// Filtered]

[identity profile] one-green-eye.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
[Dryly.] Yeah. Because the letter of the law is so universal in this place.

So he isn't personally dangerous? [not letting go of that]

A loyal Catholic. Yes.

...He is mentally unbalanced to a marked degree. I would classify him as a deranged psychotic. He might be powerless without his device, but he would become a threat the moment he obtained a weapon of any sort.

[Darkly:]

He is very dangerous.

Not a whole lot about how they work, especially here. I just know how to use one.

[...] Basically, they were made for summoning demons.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

...Personally passing judgement of others is not the way of God. Nor is it the way of the law.

[...Demons. ...How could someone like Naoya...? Batman's expression indicates some surprise for a moment, but he settles down before he continues.]

Why would he create a device like this? And why freely give them away? ...And how did he manage it?

[identity profile] pinkribbons.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
I have no idea what he's thinking anymore.

[she puts down the marker. It doesn't look like she's going to be going back to the fliers anytime soon.] I can explain what I know, but it's gonna take a while.

Hnn. [Ginko can't argue with that. Even he privately thinks people just need to learn how to talk to the kid without setting him off.]

What kind of dangerous?-- it seems you managed to capture and contain them both on your own power.

Do not quote scripture to me.

In 1094 Mathias Cronqvist declared war against God. Leon Belmont, my ancestor, swore to destroy him and any who follow him be they demon or human. Dilandau killed an angel. He's no different from Croqvist. For the good of mankind, no for the good of the Universe, he must be destroyed.

[His voice grows more intense, though he does not raise it.]

The time he spends rotting in a cell will not be his only punishment. A far greater one awaits him when his time comes.

[Easing back a little, he continues.]

And is Wrath what Kohaku would want from a good man such as yourself?

Too dangerous to be trusted around the common individual here in Luceti.

[identity profile] cowledcrusader.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
[Simply, and flatly:]

Tell me everything.

[identity profile] pinkribbons.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
Okay...

[where to start.] Well, Naoya's cousin is one of my best friends. His name's Hiro - we call him Hero, usually. We grew up together so I've known both of them a long time. Naoya's always been pretty weird and distant but I never thought it he'd ever do anything bad, though - not until last summer.

What happened?

[identity profile] pinkribbons.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
A week before I showed up here in Luceti, Naoya called us up and asked him to meet us in Shibuya. [oh wait] We're from Tokyo. Anyway, when we got there he gave us each one of these. [she taps the COMP on the table.] But it wasn't until later that we found out why.

Naoya's a really amazing programmer... It turns out that he'd been working with a cult called the Shomonkai to build these things. Summoning's supposed to be really complicated, but somehow he worked out how to write a program so that anyone can do it easily. The Shomonkai believed that God was going to send an ordeal and the only way to survive it was to follow this demon they worshipped and summon a lot more demons to fight back.

[identity profile] cowledcrusader.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
[He intently listens to this tale. ...Honestly, he wouldn't be surprised if Naoya was the one behind this cult to begin with. It's a little too coincidental that a programmer just happened to come up with a "solution" to a religious problem.]

...Go on.

Good, they should not remain unpunished and that will definitely be far worse than death would be.

[identity profile] pinkribbons.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
But the government found out that demons were being summoned. They shut off the power and locked down the city to keep them from spreading. Of course, they told us it was a "poison gas leak."

[There's a bit of a thud. Emma actually drops her journal.]

...Murder? Here?

((OOC: Would following those leads include speaking to Atsuro? Figured it would be best to ask before I have him hear about it through this post.))

... Another one!?
