The Tenth Night [Action]

[To the surprise of no one, Batman has been hard at work in his room with a series of chemicals and scientific equipment.  Next to him are several pieces of equipment, but prominently are the little spheres he usually stores smoke in.   He appears to be tooling with creating compounds to go into them, if you're scientifically minded and in his house.

However, Batman's left his door open.  This is probably unusual.  Housemates, you know you want to bother Bruce while he's hard at work.

Of course, Batman wouldn't be Batman if he didn't go out on patrol when night falls.  He'll be floating around his usual haunts on patrol, not really expecting to find anything wrong.  There almost never is.  But old habits die hard.  Maybe someone will catch a glimpse of the Dark Knight tonight.]

For once, yes.

[He mixes the chemicals he was working with. Odds are Clark's super senses will be able to pick up the smell of the reaction.]

Heh, well I guess if it wasn't supposed to be, it wouldn't be.

[Having received tacit permission, he walks up to his friend a quick sniff from the air and a check of his memory is all he needs to figure out what Bats is up to.] Knockout gas? That could definitely be useful.

After encountering some of the scum here, this is one of the only reliable ways to take most of them down.

Assuming of course, they need to breathe.

Well this'll be a good way to test that. Are there any you suspect might not have to?

Given the sheer diversity of the individuals in Luceti... it wouldn't surprise me.

[Crazy prepared, man. Crazy prepared.]

Me neither.

Do you think it would work on the Third Party?

[identity profile] cowledcrusader.livejournal.com 2010-12-11 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
Tranquilizers of the normal variety did. Best as I was able to tell, members of the Third Party were living and breathing. In a pinch, these would probably be effective.

Best news I've heard all day. Are you going to be at this for a while, then?

[identity profile] cowledcrusader.livejournal.com 2010-12-11 06:55 am (UTC)(link)
Until I build up a sizable supply. The Malnosso being who they are might not provide the materials I need again for awhile, so I'm going to use what I have for now.

Thankfully, the gas is quite stable and stores well in these spheres. Shouldn't have to worry about it expiring for a few months.

Right. I'll let Alfred know you won't be at dinner when I run into him then. [Oh how he knows you Bruce.]

I'm sure he already knows. But thanks, Clark.

No problem.

Are you going to need a hand? I'm sure you can do all this on your own, but I don't mind chipping in if it'll make things go faster.
