The First Night - Fool's Errands [Action]

 [Earlier in the week, Bruce, or perhaps more properly, "Gaff", managed to find his Batsuit and equipment, hopefully before prying eyes discovered them.  Since then he had done minimal patrols around the village.

But today was different.  Previously unafflicted by the experiment, tonight Batman has been suddenly, and rather surprisingly hit with a species change.  And though it is not apparent outwardly... to him it's obvious.  Suddenly, he can hear just about anything, see things from miles away, and has an infinite amount of stamina.  It's unnatural, and it bothers him a great deal.  And that's to say nothing of all of the other powers he just picked up from becoming Kryptonian....

Nevertheless, he has to continue his nightly patrols.  Of course, without full control of these powers, he's liable to either make a mistake or two, or just have plain strange things happen.  He might even be seen flying.

Of course, how he's encountered could easily vary.  Either way, expect him to be doing his normal observation... as best as he can, anyway.  Mishaps are bound to happen when the world is made of cardboard.]

[The best thing about being made like Kurt is easily his nightvision.

Of course, the BAMFing isn't bad either.

But the nightvision is pretty cool too.

The house feeling somewhat claustrophobic, Rogue is out on the town this evening, still getting used to her new form and, well, bamfing on top of rooftops.

This will clearly go completely unnoticed by Luceti's local patrols. >>]

[Clearly. Especially as Batman had arrived on this roof a second ago before someone poofed into existence here. He's a little surprised at first but he's still in the shadows, watching.]

[Rogue scampers on all fours to the end of the roof and throws herself off, only to cling with her hands and feet to the nearby lamppost.

She's getting much better at this, but it still feels unnatural.]

[Batman follows over and observes Rogue's acrobatics. Quite impressive. Looks like another person who had been affected by the experiment.

But that's a very strange set of powers this person has. Not that he has room to talk, as he can hear her breathing like she was standing next to him.]

[Rogue loops her tail around the lampost and - lets go, leaving herself suspended by it, dangling down. She comments to herself.]

There we go. Still feels weird, though--

[And her tail, refusing to remain in her control for as long as she has a hard time acknowledging it as part of her, begins to uncoil from the post.]

--oh crap.

[BAMF. And she's back on the rooftop.]

[And she teleports right in front of where Batman is standing. She might be facing him, she might not. But he's there. And even if she doesn't see him, there is that... presence there.]

[The flight for him is barely controlled and something he entered into almost on accident. But when he sees another person in the air, he quickly shifts away, creating a near miss.

...Hey Winry. Was that a giant bat?]

[The wraith-like bat figure halts its flight when Winry takes a dive. He flinches as he sees her crash into the ground and he mentally scolds himself for not being in control. After all, Superman could've moved fast enough to intercept her before she even hit the ground, but then...

She stands up.]

[And is perfectly fine. He was lucky this time. He can't afford to let that happen again.

So, with that, Batman descends to the ground, landing on both feet near her.]

[...They knew him? Strange.

Winry does get a nod in return though. But not much that looks too much like he recognizes her.]

[It's pretty late at night, but for some reason there's a kid wandering around. He's standing outside of the item shop door, fiddling with the knob, which someone has purposefully or accidentally locked. Beside him on the ground is a bag full of different food products. Maybe he's just doing his shopping... at midnight. But right now he seems to be contemplating breaking into the store in front of him.]

[Sup kid. There's this guy watching you from above on another building in the shadows. He's being his normal creeper self. The kid looks like he's planning on breaking in, but hasn't taken any action to do so yet...

Still. Best nip this one in the bud. So, have a seemingly disembodied voice speak to you, kid.]

Wouldn't do that if I were you.

[congrats Batman, you've succeeded in freaking him out.]

[And he leaps down from a nearby building, lands, and straightens up to his full height. 6'2'', and built like a tank. Also. The goddamn Batman with a voice that just screams "I'm not messing around."]

I did.

[oh god he's watched enough TV to recognize this. It's the goddamn Batman. He stares for a full twenty seconds before answering.]

Er... You aren't cosplaying, are you?

[You know, the funny thing about being Kryptonian is even when someone is being a ninja and even if they are one too, you can still hear them. And then immediately turn to see them. She hasn't figured out flight though - hell she might not even be able to fly. So when she sees a giant bat out of the corner of her vision

Is that the one guy or someone else? Either way, from the roof of her house-]

[Spotted? By a teenage girl? ...This almost feels like a new low. But the positive thing is he's able to pinpoint her right away in return and glance over to her in reply from the next roof over.

He sees you too, Haruhi. But his body language to your super-sight would probably say he doesn't remember you.]

[...Huh. that hearing is good too - he was able to pinpoint her way fast. To test something, she drops her voice to a conversational tone; there should be no way that a human could clearly hear her from that far off. The lack of recognition is odd and- the mask makes it hard to tell but he looks somewhat different too. Younger? Older? One of those two, maybe]

You're not the young one with the red wings.

[He could hear her. Clearly. The one with red wings. That's puzzling. There had been talks of another Batman... was it really him from before, or was it this red winged crusader?

...Either way, he doesn't react to the statement visibly, though he draws closer to his edge of the roof.

What Haruhi probably doesn't know is Batman is an accomplished lip-reader, even if he couldn't hear her.]

[Huh, so maybe he didn't hear her? She pauses a moment, and then jumps. she's got nothing to hide, and the distance between their two buildings is something she can easily leap right now.

So hope you don't mind a teenager landing right next to you, Bats]

[He doesn't flinch, but he watches her closely. That jump was too far to make as an ordinary human, at least with that little effort.]
